?469Ken Resnick: Welcome everybody to another action packed edition of AWA All-Star Wrestling as we are here in the Omni in Atlanta but it looks like Dusty Rhodes is in the parking lot of the Omni right now talking to AWA official Jerry Calhoun about what looks to be a very important matter. We saw back at the special edition of AWA All-Star Wrestling, the WF Halloween Havoc, he took a nasty fall off of the top of a cage like structure and still seems to be a bit banged up. Dusty is now trying to get in the arena after talking to Jerry Calhoun.
Gordon Solie: What is this?! Jake Roberts has attacked as we see that Dick Murdoch, who apparently has made a recovery after that fall from the cage along with Jake Roberts is also attacking Dusty Rhodes with the mystical club over the back of the head! The level violence and hatred between these two seems to grow every second!
Ken Resnick: The Snake Pit group of Bundy, Gang and Murdoch just put Dusty through a table, as that his second set of tables in a week after WF Halloween Havoc. Jake Roberts almost looks like he's conducting an orchestra here from the top of those steps in the parking lot as he has the Snake Pit at his full discretion as they are attacking Dusty in a very unmerciful manner here.
Gordon Solie: What is this now? The Snake Pit has hogtied Dusty with ropes and are taking him away!
Jake Roberts: Dusty, you are going away. You are never ever coming back. You are finished Dusty this. This is the end.
Ken Resnick: I don't know what is going on here but let's get to the ring here with the new AWA World Heavyweight Champion, Ric Flair.
Gordon Solie: We have a tremendous card here today on AWA All-Star Wrestling as I am sitting alongside Ken Resnick here live at the Omni in Atlanta, Georgia. Last week at AWA/WWF Wrestlemania, we saw a new AWA World Heavyweight Champion crowned as Ric Flair won the AWA title and was also successful in defending the NWA World Heavyweight Championship as he defeated both Stan Hanson and Hulk Hogan. The new champion, Ric Flair is making his way to the ring with his new manager of the Four Horsemen, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan who played a pretty pivotal role in helping Flair claim the AWA title. Flair and Heenan are joined here at ringside with fellow Horseman member Tully Blanchard. Heenan and Flair are now coming to the ring supposedly with some things on their mind.
Bobby Heenan: We tricked you all last week! You all thought that Flair had a severe neck injury because of that no good rotten Harley Race. Well, Flair yes did have a neck injury but after some rigorous and intense physical therapy and some rest and relaxation with the ladies shall we say, Ric was able to come back at 100% and now he holds the AWA World Heavyweight Championship as well as the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. My sources tell me that Stan Hanson was so embarrassed and ashamed that he lost that title that you will never and I mean never see Stan Hanson in the AWA again! He is gone. He is finished! He has packed his bag, took his ball and caught the first train out of town! What that means is that no one is going to stop us, not even a man like Harley Race. You know he already dumped Anderson on his head, he tried to dump Tully Blanchard on his head at Wrestlemania but luckily he took the shot on that protective mats on the outside of the ring and saved injury. But I'll tell you what Race, you're in for some trouble with the Nature Boy.
Ric Flair: I am not worried about Harley Race at all. He’s nothing. He’s a push over. A man that doesn’t even deserve a title shot for either of my titles!
Ken Resnick: All of a sudden Harley Race has appeared and he has grabbed Tully Blanchard and he's dragging him to the outside of the ring! We knew that we had a signed match between Harley Race and Tully Blanchard scheduled for later in the show, but it looks like we may be getting the match a little earlier than expected!
Gordon Solie: Yes indeed, it looks like we have a match here to start off the show as officially it is Harley Race taking on Tully Blanchard in this match as referee Earl Hebner has entered the ring and called for the bell. Race is getting things started here as he drops the elbow on Tully Blanchard.
Ken Resnick: Harley Race now has Tully Blanchard up on his shoulders it looks like this could be an electric chair drop that he is setting up for. Harley Race is really going to town on Tully Blanchard after he game him the piledriver last week at Wrestlemania and now looks to really put him on the shelf much like he did to Arn Anderson a few weeks ago in Houston.
Gordon Solie: Harley Race dumps Tully Blanchard into the corner and Race is screaming at Flair. Race desperately wants to get his hands on Ric Flair by any means necessary as he is calling out the champ. Ric Flair is screaming back at him. I don't know if Race will ever get his world title shot, he might have to finagle his way into one of those because Flair definitely does not want to face a man with vengeance on his mind like Harley Race. Race knows that taking the title away from Flair will damage him where it would hurt most…his ego.
Ken Resnick: Hold on a second now as Harley race has Tully Blanchard up in the piledriver position on the entrance ramp here at the Omni.
Harley Race: Flair, you give me a title shot for both of those belts or I'm dropping another one of your Four Horsemen straight on to this concrete floor!
Gordon Solie: There are no protective mats here at the Omni so Blanchard is not going to be able to be saved by them this time.
Harley Race: Your guy is going to get dumped or you give me the shot at the AWA and NWA titles!
Ken Resnick: Race has Flair in the ultimate predicament here, either give him the title shot or see another one of his Four Horsemen members hit the injured list!
Ric Flair: Okay, okay, you got it Race! You got it! You have it Race, you got the world title shot, at AWA When Worlds Collide, it's yours. Now put him down!
Ken Resnick: Bobby Heenan now talking to Flair as I am not sure Heenan is too happy with that executive decision that Flair just made since after all Heenan is the business advisor of the Four Horsemen. You can hear Heenan asking him, why did you just do that?
Gordon Solie: But look on the outside at Harley Race who after getting the agreement for the world title shot has just dropped Tully Blanchard straight to the concrete floor with the piledriver, a thing he promised NOT to do in exchange for the world title shot. But I guess since he got Flair’s commitment to the match, he decided to go ahead and do it anyway! He is now taking out the members of the Horsemen one by one. Who's going to be left after Anderson and now Tully Blanchard have been taken out! Flair and Windham are the only two that remain in Flair’s corner!
Ken Resnick: Flair finally realizing exactly what Harley Race has done as he makes his way to the locker room, Bobby Heenan is on the floor tending to the unconscious Tully Blanchard. But Race has gotten what he wanted, a world title shot and a crack at getting vengeance on Ric Flair, at AWA When Worlds Collide, live from the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago, Illinois, we will have a world title match for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship as well as the NWA World Heavyweight Championship as Ric Flair will defend the titles against Harley Race. What a battle that is going to be! We will be right back here on AWA All-Star Wrestling!
Ken Resnick: Wow, here comes Andy Kaufman as you can see he doesn't seem to have much gold around his waist anymore as Andy Kaufman’s Cabaret of Hollywood Stars consisting of of Gino Hernandez and “Superstar” Billy Graham are making their way down to the ring. If you haven’t already noticed by the lack of a US title belt, Andy was defeated at Wrestlemania by Bruiser Brody so he no longer has that AWA United States Championship…thank goodness.
Andy Kaufman: At Wrestlemania that was just absolutely ridiculous that I had to face Bruiser Brody! I had the open contracts on all my title defenses, I have high powered and high priced attorneys that made it that way for me! I am the one that picks and chooses who I face in the Intergalactic Challenge, I am the Hollywood star not you Stanley Blackburn! I am the king of professional wrestling, I am the number one and to prove that I am introducing a new championship into the AWA, the king of professional wrestling championship! It's greater than any world championship belt that you could ever come up with it's a gold studded crown with rubies and emeralds and I will be the one to win that championship! I have come up with a mountain of a man to prove my true legitimacy of the title when I defeat him. I don't know who is going to face me here but I have been assured he is beyond worthy to face a king.
Andy Kaufman: Hebner get down here and do your job, I am going to claim the first-ever winner of the king of professional wrestling championship! I will be wearing the crown oh so soon! Get your behind in here Earl I have an opponent to face off with so I can be crowned king!
Gordon Solie: Wait a minute here who is this giant man? I believe that is Big John Studd coming to the ring and I don't think any Kaufman really expected to see a man like this to enter the ring to face him. It looks like becoming the inaugural king of professional wrestling champion for Andy Kaufman could mean trouble here and he's definitely outweighed and definitely out muscled in this match.
Ken Resnick: The bell rings to start this match and Big John Studd grabs Andy Kaufman by the throat as he is gasping for air. Big John Studd looks like he's going to finish this one off in record time over the massively overmatched Andy Kaufman.
Gordon Solie: Wait a minute, what is this? Andy Kaufman just poked John Studd and Studd just fell like a giant redwood tree to the mat. Is this some sort of joke?
Ken Resnick: Referee Earl Hebner down and that’s a three count. Was John Studd in on this the whole time? C’mon now, not this charade all over again from Kaufman.
Gordon Solie: ”Superstar” Billy Graham now bringing in a golden crown into the ring as John Studd is hugging Andy Kaufman as well as Gino Hernandez as it looks like Studd was in on it all along. It sure looks like Kaufman has found the newest member of Andy Kaufman's Cabaret of Hollywood Stars in John Studd.
Andy Kaufman: I have just defeated one of the biggest and baddest men in all of professional wrestling because he is so big and bad, he of course wants to join the best professional wrestlers in the world in Andy Kaufman Cabaret of Hollywood Stars! John, you've joined the right group because you are under the tutelage of the king of professional wrestling! Congratulations!
ken Resnick: All of this is a disgrace as Kaufman is making up his own championships now.
Gordon Solie: Now we have a victory celebration here as Billy Graham and John Studd have put Kaufman up on top of their shoulders as they're carrying him out of the ring. If it wasn't enough that Andy Kaufman made a mockery of the AWA United States Championship he's now making a mockery of the AWA in general as he's making up his own championships and titles and now proclaiming himself the king of professional wrestling. I for one can't wait to see Kaufman get knocked of his pedestal.
Ken Resnick: Oh no, this guy is back in ring again!
Jim Cornette: I will be the manager of champions! I have a vendetta to settle here in the AWA and my men will help me settle that score. I will be the manager of the world champion before you know it A plan is secretly being hatched right now something you will never see coming….
Gordon Solie: OK, time to get this guy out of the ring, he is stuttering and stammering and this is just a wste of all our time, our great AWA fans want to see wrestling action, not some guy yammering away on the microphone!
Ken Resnick: Thankfully, just like what we saw at Wrestlemania, AWA Security Officials Scott Ledoux and George Gadaski are out here as they are carrying this guy out of the ring. Let’s get this bum out of the ring. I don't even know what is even talking about he doesn't even have any wrestlers with him to back up his claims. What, is his tennis racket going to be his “force”? I don't think so get this guy out of the ring and let’s get back to the ring for some more action.
Ken Resnick: We are back from commercial break and Jake Roberts is in the ring with the microphone and he has dragged the tied up Dusty Rhodes into the ring!
Jake Roberts: Dusty Rhodes, you are about to become my sacrifice. This is going to be it for you Dusty. I have had enough of this I am done with you Dusty. You are going to become my sacrifice for the higher meaning. You have no friends left, no one is here to save you, this time it's over.
Gordon Solie: Hold on Bruiser Brody, the new AWA United States Champion has come in with the spool of barbwire and he is attacking the Snake Pit as he just said Bundy right over the top of his bald head with the barbwire spool! It looks like Dusty Rhodes does have a friend after all in Bruiser Brody who has come to his rescue!
Ken Resnick: Bruiser Brody with a big huge boot to the One Man Gang as he's got the Snake Pit reeling here as it is just in time to rescue Dusty Rhodes from Jake Roberts sacrifice!
Gordon Solie: Now Dusty Rhodes is getting his hands on Jake Roberts as he knocks Jake over the top ropes as Brody is attacking Dick Murdoch with his signature chain that he carries around. Dusty Rhodes and Bruiser Brody are cleaning house on the Snake Pit!
Gordon Solie: Looks like Jake is trying to get away here but Brody is keeping him close. Let's listen to Dusty here.
Dusty Rhodes: Jake you want to have a fight. You always seem to have the numbers on your side. Well this time, I am going to make it a level playing field and we will have even numbers. I'll tell you what we might be a guy or two down right now but coming up at AWA When Worlds Collide, Brody wanted to bring along two of our friends and we want to face all you in the Snake Pit in a double ring, double cage match! That's right two rings, two cages, eight men and we are going to fight all night long until there is only one man standing!
Jake Roberts: Dusty, you have signed your own death wish, I accept the challenge!
Ken Resnick: @hat a crazy match that we have here in what could possibly a end of a career type match for any of the eight men involved. We will be right back after this commercial message with our main event as it will be Eddie Gilbert taking on Rick Rude…in a what’s this? A Loser Leaves the AWA match? I got to see if this information is correct, we’ll be right back!
Ken Resnick: I can’t believe the news that we received just before the break that the strife in Hot Stuff International has gone on long enough and that our main event between Eddie Gilbert and Rick Rude will be a loser leaves the AWA match!
Gordon Solie: Well back at Wrestlemania we saw Eddie Gilbert and Rick Rude lose the AWA Tag Team Championship to Buddy Rose and Doug Somers After Precious hit one or possibly meant to hit both Gilbert and Rude. Speaking of Precious, here she comes to the ring now has she has a major stake in this match. Finally, the AWA has become too big for the both of them and this is the match that will settle the score once and for all.
Ken Resnick: Here comes Eddie Gilbert out to the ring down the entrance ramp here in the Omni as he looks none too happy as he is staring down a Precious who is joining us here at the announcers table to watch his match. Precious do you want to say anything about this match?
Precious: …….
Ken Resnick: Precious doesn't seem to have anything on her mind here so we will have to see how this match unfolds and how this all affects here and her love life.
Gordon Solie: Rick Rude running into the ring as he attacks Eddie Gilbert from behind and throws him into the ring as referee Earl Hebner already sliding into the ring to get this match started. Let’s get this eagerly anticipated matched started as it is loser leaves the AWA with Eddie Gilbert taking on Rick Rude.
Ken Resnick: Rick Rude putting the knees to Eddie Gilbert here as he is just pounding away. Rick Rude and Eddie Gilbert fighting it out after all these months of this love triangle taking place, this is just absolutely incredible that Hot Stuff International have finally blew their lids and this match is taking place.
Gordon Solie: A big back elbow by Rick Rude sends Eddie Gilbert tumbling down to the mat as Eddie Gilbert is definitely in trouble in this match with his AWA career on the line.
Gordon Solie: Rick Rude is trying to dump Eddie Gilbert up and over the top rope, meanwhile Precious is sitting right below all this action and has to watch first hand as her two love interests battle it out. Who is going to be the man that walks away with Precious tonight and who will be the man that walks away with no career left in the AWA?
Ken Resnick: How quickly the tide can turn in matches here in the AWA. We thought that Gilbert was all but out of it but he is able to connect with a reverse piledriver and is able to get back into this match as he slows down Rick Rude by dropping him right on top of his head!
Gordon Solie: Eddie Gilbert is screaming here trying to get Rick Rude to submit to the pain of this tremendously painful claw hold. Earl Hebner is down asking him if he wants to give it up but if he quits he is basically quitting the AWA because he will be out of town with a loss in this match.
Ken Resnick: Eddie Gilbert drops Rude over the top rope with the Hot Shot and this could be it for Rick Rude in the AWA as it looks like Eddie Gilbert is ready to get him down for the three count!
Gordon Solie: All Eddie Gilbert needs to do is pin Rude for the victory but Precious has jumped inside the ring and is taking the attention of Eddie Gilbert away from pinning Rick Rude. Maybe she really was with Rude all along and has just been playing both sides of the fence the whole time!
Ken Resnick: From behind “Gorgeous” Jimmy Garvin has broken a steel chair right over the top of Eddie Gilbert’s head! I can't believe it! We knew that Jimmy Garvin had to have something to do with this entire situation and now he's making his presence felt by wrapping that steel chair around the cranium of Eddie Gilbert! The former estranged lover of Precious is attacking the man that originally stole her from him!
Gordon Solie: They look like they're back together as Precious and Jimmy Garvin are kissing as we have not seen them together for months, when Precious had initially turned her back on Jimmy Garvin but finally Jimmy Garvin and Precious, the original first couple of the AWA is back together again!
Ken Resnick: Rick Rude is still down from the Hot Shot delivered by Eddie Gilbert. But Eddie gilbert is now down from the chair shot by Jimmy Garvin. Earl Hebner is counting them both out for the ten count and it looks like we might have a double knockout here as neither man is able to answer the count.
Gordon Solie: Here comes the AWA President, Stanley Blackburn, let’s hear what he has to say about this situation.
Stanley Blackburn: Both men were not able to answer the ten count therefore, both will lose the match and they both now must leave the AWA!
Ken Resnick: Did you hear that? Both Gilbert and Rude are gone from the AWA! Neither could answer the ten count so they both lose the match!
Gordon Solie: And as Jimmy Garvin carries Precious off into the sunset, both Gilbert and Rude are left seeing their AWA careers vanish in a instant.
